  • Services: Advises and assists Veterans and their eligible dependents in obtaining benefits and services. Provides claim assistance for VA disability compensation or pension, education, insurance, home loans, and burial. Advises and assists in obtaining medical, pharmaceutical and nursing home care. Counsels and assists in obtaining and correcting military records.

    This program, known as PAAD, allows any person 65+ years or permanently disabled of any age who meets eligibility requirements to obtain prescription drugs and insulin items for $5.00. Applications can be obtained at your local pharmacy or the Camden County Division of Senior Services at 1-800-955-2446

  • http://www.state.nj.us/health/ This program is available for persons enrolled in or not enrolled in but who meet the eligibility requirements of the PAAD Program and who are customers of record with an electric or gas company at your principal place of residence; that is your utility bill must bear your name and address. The Lifeline Program does not cover bottled gas, propane, or oil. If you have two (2) utility companies, the lifeline credit will be divided between them.
  • Tenants' Lifeline Assistance Program 1-800-792-9745 Department of Health & Senior Services, State of New Jersey CN 714, Trenton, NJ 08625-0714   This program is available for persons enrolled in or not enrolled in but who meet the eligibility requirements of the PAAD Program and who do not pay their own utility bills. If you are a tenant at your principal place of residence and the cost of your utilities are included in your rent, you may be entitled to a credit.
    Property Tax Deduction: of $250 is available to those residents age 65+ who have owned their homes since October of the pre-tax year. Your income must not exceed $10,000. Call your local Tax Assessor's Office for more information.
    Homestead Property Tax Reimbursement (Freeze)

The amount of the reimbursement will be the difference between the amount of property taxes that are due and paid in 1997 and the amount due and paid in subsequent tax years, provided of course, that the subsequent amount is greater than the amount paid in 1997 (or the year in which the claimant becomes eligible).
